dependence on international imports to meet the

options- 1.5 litre diesel, 1.5 litre petrol or
1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol to the buyers.
Delivering 22.67 kilometers per litre, it
currently tops the list as the most fuel
efficient SUV in the Indian marketplace.

2. Hyundai Creta 21.38 KPL Mileage
Hyundai Creta is a much sought after SUV not only
because of its great looks, the brand value and a
very premium and feature-rich interior, but also
owing to its fuel efficiency. The 1.4 litre
diesel offers a mileage of 21.38 kpl while the
1.6 litre diesel boasts of an ARAI certified fuel
economy of 19.67 kpl.

3. Nissan Terrano 20.45 KPL Mileage
Powered by a comparatively larger 102 bhp 1.6
litre engine, this Japanese SUV is a highly fuel
efficient vehicle delivering 20.45 km to a litre.
The vehicle is also available with 84 bhp 1.5
litre diesel and 108bhp 1.5 litre diesel engine.
The vehicle offers top notch ride quality and is
best suited to a city environment.

4. Renault Duster 19.87 KPL Mileage
When you talk about compact SUV segment, you
cannot ignore Renault Duster. After all, it all
started with this vehicle. With a 1.5 litre
engine which produces 84 bhp and goes 19.87 kmpl,
Renault Duster is also one of the most fuel
efficient SUVs in India. The Duster is also
available with two more sets of specifications-
102 bhp 1.6 litre petrol and 108 bhp 1.5 litre
diesel.

5. Mahindra TUV300 18.49 KPL Mileage
With a claimed mileage that stands at 18.49 kpl,
Mahindra TUV300 is another most fuel efficient
car that is designed especially for Indian roads.
It is popular for its super macho looks, spacious
interiors, and 7 seats. The SUV is offered with a
1.5 litre diesel engine that puts up 84 bhp of
peak power.

Please note that the above mileage figures are
the ARAI certified mileage (under standard
conditions) as claimed by the respective car
manufacturer. Sometimes, there could be a very
significant difference between the ARAI certified
mileage and the actual mileage on Indian roads
(real world conditions). Still, the above
