Diabetes - Types, Symptoms, Causes How To
Prevent Diabetes

What Is Diabetes?
  •   Diabetes is a chronic disease where the body is
unable to automatically regulate blood glucose
levels, resulting in too much glucose in the
blood. Diabetes is the major cause of chronic
kidney disease (CKD). The diabetic people have
high blood sugar level. The blood sugar level is
regulated by insulin a hormone produced by the
pancreas, which depends on your eating habits.

Symptoms of Diabetes
  • The most common symptoms of diabetes are as
    follows
  • Being all the time thirsty
  • Frequent urination
  • Increased hunger
  • Feeling all the time tired
  • Vision changes
  • Recurrent skin infections very difficult to heal
  • Tingling or numbness you may feel in your
    extremities
  • Gums disorders
  • Hair loss and many others

  • 1. Increase in urination and thirst. Excessive
glucose which is associated with sugar diabetes
tend to make you feel dehydrated and would cause
you the urge to drink more water. Increase in
water intake, of course, makes you urinate more
    frequent during the whole day.
  • 2. Gaining weight. When you lose sugar and fluid
in your body, your body would want to consume
more food. Sweet cravings are one of those
symptoms. Since sweet give you energy, your body
would be asking you to eat more of those types.
  • 3. Vision problems. Your vision becomes blurry
because eye tissues are being extracted from your
lenses. Thus, your visions capability to focus
is compromised. In serious cases, sugar diabetes
    can cause blindness.

  • 4. Improper healing. People with diabetes cannot
heal properly. Their bruises may go on for days
and days. Infections are not healing faster than
it should and women who have vaginal infections
are often left to suffer for days.
  • 5. Body numbness. Excess sugar can also result in
nerve damages that can leave certain parts of
your body to tingle or feel numb.
  • Sugar diabetes can also cause a continuous
occurrence of fatigue and weakness. If you are
experiencing one or all of the symptoms, be sure
to schedule your appointment with your trusted
    specialist.

Types of Diabetes
  • There are two different types of diabetes.
  • Type I Diabetes (juvenile diabetes or
insulin-dependent diabetes) The reason for type
I diabetes is due to pancreas inability to
    produce insulin.
  • Type II Diabetes (non insulin dependent diabetes
or adult onset diabetes) This diabetes is a
result of body tissues becoming resistant to
insulin. It is usually hereditary. Type-2
Diabetes is more common than Type-1 Diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is a life-long disease marked by
high levels of sugar in the blood.

7 Steps on How to Prevent Diabetes
  • If you are overweight you risk developing
diabetes.  Reduce the amount of food on your
plate so you gradually eat less and start to lose
weight.  Drink a glass of plain water or a
sugar-free drink before your meal to take the
    edge of any hunger pains.
  • Reduce the amount of fat you are eating grill or
bake foods instead of frying use low-fat spreads
    and reduced fat meals.
  • Check the Glycemic Index of the food you are
eating knowing what each food contains helps
maintain your blood-sugars, which in turn can
prevent the full onset of diabetes.

8
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. If
you keep a bottle of water with you and sip
frequently youll be surprised how much you do
    drink throughout the day.
  • If you are feeling peckish choose a healthy snack
    rather than a chocolate bar.
  • Use skimmed rather than full-fat milk in hot
    drinks.
  • Exercise is good for health.  But if you are not
used to doing exercise then start it in
moderation.  15 minutes gentle walking each day
will ease you into a regular exercising pattern.
