Paulette Dystant attended an all-girls school in
pursuit of her primary education. A native of
Kingston, Jamaica, her years in the Marymount
High School in Highgate, St. Mary, Jamaica gave
her a solid educational foundation, as the school
is a long established institution founded in 1935
by Franciscan sisters. Setting her sights on a
business career, Dystant then enrolled at the
Duffs Business College in Kingston.
Paulette Dystant is a native of Jamaica. She
attended Marymount High school in Highgate,
Jamaica. After she graduated, she completed a
three-year business program at Duffs Business
College in Kingston, Jamaica. She moved from
Jamaica to the United States of America in 1979.
After she moved, she began to build her career in
the financial industry and then in the mortgage
industry.

Begins Career In Los Angeles
Paulette Dystant concerned herself, as a part of
the Comet Builders Inc. team in Los Angeles, with
the business of residential construction, as
opposed to infrastructure like highway building,
civil or engineering construction, which includes
public projects like dams, bridges, highways,
utility distribution. During her time at Comet
Builders Inc. she learned primarily the ins and
outs of residential construction.Paulette Dystant
works in the housing market as well as the
financial industry. As a mortgage loan
originator, she works closely with potential home
buyers. She helps people get a mortgage, so that
they can purchase a new home.

Career in Construction with Comet Building Inc.
Paulette Dystants first position in the United
States after attaining her business education in
Jamaicas Duffs Business College was with Comet
Building Inc., specializing in adding structure
to real property and constructing buildings.
Dystant would have become familiar with the
various permutations of construction, from small
renovations like adding a room or changing a
bathroom, to projects of all sizes. Paulette
Dystant learned to plan carefully and in detail,
adopting an observant and precise oversight over
every building and construction project. Dystant
also dealt with the business aspects of
construction as a profit-making venture, learning
that commercial building construction can be
attained in various ways, including cost
estimating, hard bids, negotiated prices,
management contracting, design and build and
design-build bridging financing.

Construction Ladder
Paulette Dystant moved smoothly from escrow
coordinator for Urban West Communities in Santa
Monica, California in the United States, to loan
processing manager for Shappell Industries in
Beverly Hills, California in 1986. Still working
in the construction and building industry,
Dystant learned all the steps in loan processing
as she coordinated all the loans for the San
Fernando division of Shappell.
