Load cells
  • A load cell is a transducer (A transducer is an
    electronic device that converts energy from one
    form to another. Common examples include
    thermometers, microphones, loudspeakers, position
    and pressure sensors, and antenna.) that is used
    to generate an electrical signal whose magnitude
    is directly proportional to the force being
    measured. The various types of load cells include
    pneumatic load cells, hydraulic load cells and
    strain gauge load cells.
  • While measuring, weight acts on the load
    cell's metal spring component and causes elastic
    deformation.
  • This strain (positive or negative) is transformed
    into an electrical signal by a strain gauge
    (SG) installed on the spring element. The common
    type of load cell is a bending beam with a strain
    gauge. Often the (mandatory) basic components,
    i.e. spring element and strain gauge are
    emphasized with additional elements (housing,
    sealing elements, etc.) shielding the strain
    gauge elements.
  • Atmospheric pressure has influence on load cells
    and may cause fluctuations. To avoid this problem
    adequate design measures and load cell subjected
    to the same pressure on all sides.

Binacular Type Loadcells
  • The binocular bending beam design load cell is
    also called as a single point load cell design.
    It has good moment immunity which yield in very
    small errors of change in the force application
    point. Because of this reason the design is
    popular for low force commercial weighing
    purposes and applications. This binocular ring
    loadcell has an IP 68 protection perfectly suited
    for industrial purposes. Depending upon the
    bending beam principle it has got excellent
    readability and accuracy.
  • The major application of this binocular load
    cells are plat form scales test purpose, hopper
    weighing system, dynamic weighing systems like
    weigh feeder, screw feeder, belt weigher and bag
    check weigher kind of batching system.

Rope tension
  • Rope tension loadcells are simple to install. It
    is feasible to install them where there is a
    fixed or rigid non moving rope. We can install
    with following techniques
  • This arrangement have the capacity to measure the
    load on one rope of the total number of ropes of
    the crane. Thus, in principle the exactness of
    this type of method or framework would be the
    least. However, the benefits of this system are
    Simple operation, Easy to install, Reliability
    and Rugged design for industrial environment.
  • The output from the loadcell pertaining to the
    load applied is displayed digitally in the
    indicator housed in crane control cabin. The
    results from the loadcells pertaining to the load
    applied is calculated or manupulated and
    presented digitally in the indicator presented in
    crane control cabin. A view with different sizes
    is also provided at the girder of the crane to
    enable preview of the weight from the floor. The
    method has a potential free contact that would be
    initiated if the crane is heavily loaded. It is
    likely to transmit the data from the weighing
    electronics to a base station receiver through
    ZigBee or Wi-Fi protocol.

  • The double ended shear beam

    shear beam. It is most frequently used in truck
    scales and tank and hopper purposes. Instead of
    being protected at one end and load applied to
    the other corner as in the single ended shear
    beam, the double ended shear beam is protected at
    both ends and the load is subjected to the centre
    of the load cell.
