Introduction

Rich sources of natural gas are found in Permian
Basin in south eastern Mexico, and San Juan Basin
in north western part. The availability of
natural gas is so high that only ten percent of
the annual produce is required domestically and
the remaining 90 percent is exported. Procurers

liquefied forms

Precious Metals
Silver, a precious metal is a major mineral
resource of Mexico. This metal has large scale
usage in medical equipments, electronic
appliances, solar panels, batteries and
photography. Silver has extensive use in jewelry.
Chihuahua and Durango states account for this
country's 30 percent mining. Other states
producing this precious metal are Guanajuato and
Zacatecas. Earlier, this country had substantial
reserves of gold

Non-precious Metals
Among this category of metal, copper is the most
prominent. This metal is known for its superior
conductivity, malleability, and ductility. Brass
has large scale use in making plumbing fittings,
coins, and utensils. Bronze is also used in
making utensils and artifacts. Lead and zinc are
the other mineral resources of significance. Lead
is widely used in automotive batteries,
ammunition, solder, pigments, and radiation
shields.
