Winson Tang MD Clinical Research
As the Vice President of Clinical Research for
Sangamo Bioscience, Inc., located in Richmond,
CA, Winson Tang MD is responsible for all
clinical research programs within the company.
These include CAR T-cells for glioblastoma, HIV
cell therapy, and diabetic neuropathy. Sangamo
is a clinical stage development company that
specializes in the use of Zinc Finger Proteins
for gene and cell therapy.

Winson Tang MD Medical Consultant
Between Nov. 2008 and Dec. 2009, Winson Tang MD
worked as a Medical Consultant for Amsterdam
Molecular Therapeutics in Amsterdam, The
Netherlands. He was responsible for the conduct
of Phase 2/3 Glybera orphan drug registration
trial for lipoprotein lipase deficiency. He was
also instrumental in the development of the
Glybera product profile. The MAA for Glybera was
submitted to the EMA in Dec 2009. It is the first
and remains the only gene therapy product
approved in the western world.

Winson Tang MD Leadership Ability
When the financial crisis of 2008-09 hit, Winson
Tang MD was working as the Director of Life
Science for the Pacific Capital Group. During
this time, a lack of interest in healthcare
investments saw Dr. Tang move to Xcorporeal Inc.,
as its Chief Operating Officer responsible for
daily operations. The company developed a
prototype of a portable home hemodialysis machine
and was working on a Wearable Artificial Kidney
when it was acquired by Fresenius AG.

Winson Tang MD Drug Development
Winson Tang MD is a Board certified and
experienced physician, clinical researcher and
scientist who has worked on the drug development
side of the biotechnology industry. He has worked
at a number of companies including Amgen,
Tularik, Isis and Sangamo BioSciences. As a
consultant to Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics,
he oversaw the conduct of the registration trial
of Glybera for lipoprotein lipase deficiency.
Glybera was subsequently approved for marketing
by the EMA and remains the only gene therapy
product approved in the western world.
