In honor of International Womens Day, here's a
list of 10 influential women in web performance
and DevOps you should be following. This is only
a small sample of some of the many amazing women
helping make the web faster and secure. Barbara
Bermes - _at_bbinto Senior Product Manager, Firefox
Mobile at Mozilla. Barbara encourages the world's
developers to build websites and make the web
faster. She used to develop mobile web sites and
applications for the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation (CBC). Now she is focused on making
the mobile web faster for all at Firefox
Mobile. Bridget Kromhout - _at_bridgetkromhout
Principal technologist for Cloud Foundry at
Pivotal. Bridget is a core organizer
for DevOpsDays and serves on the program
committee for Velocity. She shares her formidable
knowledge by speaking at tech conferences,
podcasting at ArrestedDevOps and
Tweeting. Courtney Nash - _at_courtneynash
Director of Strategic Content at OReilly Media.
A neuroscientist turned web performance and
DevOps enthusiast, Courtney serves as a co-chair
for the Velocity conferences. Courtney leads
strategy for all OReilly content offerings
related to web operations, high performance
applications and security. Estelle Weyl -
_at_estellevw Developer Evangelist at Instart
Logic. Estelle is an Open Web standardista
sharing knowledge on CSS, JavaScript, HTML5,
accessibility and performance through conference

performance space. She believes performance is as
much a part of company culture as it is part of
the user experience. She is the author
of Designing for Performance, a great
introduction to performance from a design and
front end development perspective. She is an avid
connoisseur of donuts. Lori MacVittie -
_at_lmacvittie Principal Technical Evangelist at F5
Networks. Lori is member of the steering
committee for CloudNOW, a consortium of the
leading women in cloud computing. She blogs
regularly about DevOps, HTTP2, cloud computing,
infrastructure, security topics and
more. Sangeeta Narayanan - _at_sangeetan Director,
Edge Developer Experience at Netflix. Sangeeta
leads a team ensuring that the Netflix API can be
updated on demand without impacting the user
experience. She speaks about lessons learned as
Netflix innovates and scales, while maintaining a
good user experience. Sara Soueidan -
_at_SaraSoueidan Freelance front-end developer.
Sara was named 2015 Developer of the Year by the
Net awards. Her current focus in on SVG and CSS,
which she shares via blog posts, workshops, and
speaking engagements. Sara helps companies of all
sizes deliver responsive web sites. She also
helps raise birds in her home country of
Lebanon. Tammy Everts - _at_tameverts Senior
Researcher Evangelist at Soasta. Tammy
co-founded WPOStats.com, an online repository for
web performance ROI statistics. She recently
wrote Time is Money The Business Value of Web
Performance  a must-read for anybody interested
