What is the eligibility criterion for Indian
Patent Agent Exam Training?

• One fulfils the eligibility criterion for Patent
  Agent exam training program if he/ she are
• A citizen of India
• 21 years of Age at the time of application
• A Graduate from a recognized university in the
  field of Science, Technology or Engineering
  possessing degree in B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Tech, M.Sc,
  etc.

What is the pattern and structure of Patent Agent
Examination?

• The examination is divided into three sections
  that include
• Part I 40 objective type questions of 1 mark
  each and descriptive type questions of 60 marks
• Part II This paper incorporates a set of 2
  questions which is meant specifically for
  aspirants from different streams (i.e. Science
  Engineering). This paper is of 30 marks each
  consists of
• Drafting of specification from given background
  and claims
• Drafting of claims from given specifications
  along with interpretative/ descriptive type
  questions of 40 marks
• Viva- voice Based on domain knowledge

What is the minimum passing score criteria for
the Exam?
To successfully accomplish the Patent Agent Exam
conducted by the India Controller General of
Patents, one must score minimum of 50 percent
marks in each part and the total 60 aggregate.
