• Defoamers are foam control products that are used
  to rapidly destabilize the existing foam. Usually
  it is very difficult to break down the foam it
  is stabilized by the surface elasticity and
  surface viscosity of the film.
• Defoamers are used in the food and beverage
  industry to control or stabilize the foam which

  is a synthetic product.

• Researchers from Georgia Institute of Technology
  have come up with a new type of foam called
  Capillary Foam. The research was sponsored by
  the National Science Foundation (NSF). These
  capillary foams were developed by a graduate
  student named Yi Zhang, co-advised by the mentors
  Behrens and Carson Meredith.
• Lightweight foams can be used in many industrial
  applications from construction to automobile and
  airplane manufacturing.
