Religious Tour
  • Girnar (also known as Girnar Hill or Girinagar or
    Revatak Pravata) is a collection of mountains in
    the Junagadh District of Gujarat, India, situated
    near Junagadh at a distance of 327 km from
    Ahmedabad.Girnar is older than Himalayas.
  • Girnar, the mountain and its range are considered
    sacred and it's an important pilgrimage site for
    both Jains and Hindus, who gather here during the
    Girnar Parikrama festival.
  • Significantly famous among Shiva devotees for the
    mystic space-time of the mountain range with
    known presence and turnover of different sects of
    Sadhu Babas, Nath sect, different Jain
    Tirthankaras to Girnar, its typical flora and
    fauna, the famous Maha Shivratri fair, Girnar
    hosts a number of temples and some historical
    spots across its range.

  • Somnath Girnar Darshan
  • The Somnath temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, is
    located on the south coast of Saurastra in the
    Sorath province. It has a 4 ft high jyotirlinga
    installed on the Brahmasmi and decorated with
    sandal paste.

  • Lord Dattatreya Temple, Girnar
  • Lord Dattatreya temple is dedicated to Lord
    Dattatreya, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is
    believed that Lord Dattatreya performed
    meditation at this site. The footprints of Lord
    Dattatreya, who is regarded to be three-headed,
    can be seen here.

  • Goddess Ambaji Temple
  • Goddess Ambaji temple is an ancient temple built
    in the 12th century and is situated on the Girnar
    mountain. The temple is devoted to one of the
    forms of Goddess Ambaji. As per legend, Goddess
    Ambaji was worshipped by the deities of the
    pre-Aryan race at this site. Along with the
    footprints of the goddess, the imprints of her
    chariot are believed to have been seen during the
    construction of the temple.

  • Bhalka Tirtha Dehotsarg
  • North of Somnath, en route to Veraval, is the
    famous Lord Krishna temple, Bhalka Tirtha, on the
    site where Krishna is said to have been
    mistakenly shot in the foot.
  • Nearby is Dehotsarg, where he succumbed to his
    mortal wound.
  • The temple at Bhalka Tirth is known as
    Mahaprabhuji's Bethak, and a tulsi tree has been
    planted in Lord Krishna's memory.
  • At the Dehotsarg Tirth, in the 9th century AD
    Shri Vallabhacharya gave discourses on Shrimad
    Bhagvat Gita for seven days, as well as the
    revered Gita Mandir, which has eighteen marble
    pillars with a chapter from the Bhagvat Gita
    inscribed on each one.
  • The temple also contains a beautiful tribhangi
    idol of Lord Krishna playing his flute.
