Horticulture is the branch of Agricultural
Science that deals with the cultivation of
plants, vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs,
shrubs, bushes, ornamental trees and landscaping
for gardens, maintaining nurseries, green houses,
gardens, orchards and plantations and also
floriculture or cultivation of flowers. The
branch now has direct and indirect applications
in food technology industries as production,
harvesting and storing of vegetables have all
become highly mechanized.

The basic educational qualification for pursuing
a career in Accounting is taking 102 with
Commerce as the main subject, followed by a
bachelor degree in Commerce. For Post graduate
courses such as M.Com one needs to have B.Com at
graduate level. Along with subject specialization
computer literacy is also essential. One must
take a course in computer accounting software's
such as Tally or some other related diplomas. One
can further take up more advanced positions by
doing ICWA, CA, Company Secretary ship or an MBA
in Finance.

The course with developments has brought with
itself the wide variety of job opportunists in
the public and private enterprises. Horticulturist
s and Landscapers are employed in resorts,
hotels, and in health farms in order to decorate
their settings. Although both the private and
public sectors offer a good remuneration to its
employees but the private sector is better
rewarding. Postgraduate students can work as
supervisors, researcher, distributors, and
engineer or they can also start his/her own
business.

As far as financial aspects  of this profession
are concerned, there is a wider scope of increase
in the income/salary of a Horticulturist. One can
get anywhere near Rs.1,80,000 to Rs.2,40,000 per
annum in government service and if one starts 
his own business one can earn as good as
Rs.5,40,000 to Rs.6,00,000 per annum.
