1
JEE Main 2016 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is
an All India common engineering entrance
examination which is conducted by Central Board
of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission in
various engineering colleges all over India.
This exam is conducted at UG level. This exam was
started from the year 2012 in place of AIEEE and
IIT JEE. There are two types of JEE - JEE Main
and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is for getting
admission into NIT's (National Institute of
Technology), IIIT's (Indian Institute of
Information Technology), CFTIs (Central Funded
Technical Institute) and IIEST Shibpur. JEE
Advanced is for getting admission into IIT's
(Indian Institute of Technology) and Indian
School of Mines Dhanbad. Admission for these
institutes will depend on the performance of the
student in their class 12 or equivalent
qualifying exam along with their score in JEE
Main. Candidates will be given admission based on
their all India ranks calculated with JEE Main
2016 scores and the normalized marks of class 12
in the ratio of 6040. The application form for
JEE Main 2016 will be tentatively available from
the month of December 2015. One month time will
be given for the students to submit the form. The
JEE Main is expected to be conducted in the
month of April 2016. Given below are the
complete information regarding JEE Main 2016
including its eligibility criteria, application
procedure, syllabus, exam pattern, test centres,

case of SC/ST and Persons with disabilities there
is a relaxation of five years provided to the

qualifying examination for the academic year
2014-2015 or those who are appearing for their

attempts is limited to three for JEE Main 2016.
Number of subjects in the qualifying
examination The candidates appearing for JEE Main
should have taken at least five subjects in XII

to write JEE Main 2016. If any candidate who has
taken four subjects provide false information and
appear for JEE Main then their rank or result
will not be announced. A candidate does not
become eligible for admission just because they
become eligible to appear for the JEE Main. The
admission to the colleges is based on the all

Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland,
Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Orissa have
joined the JEE Main recently. Previously these
states were admitting candidates based on their
