Electricity Saver Ireland Proud to Support 100
Marathons in 100 Days Duo.
Electricity Saver Ireland has been delivering
savings to business energy users across Ireland
for over six years, and has been involved in a
large number of charity fundraising adventures,
from charity runs in Keady, County Armagh to
supporting the homeless, and even participating
in Strictly Come Dancing, Ballymacnab - all
extremely worthy. But never has the challenge at
hand been as extreme, as the one dreamed up by
accomplished elite endurance athletes, Larry
Maguire and SteveyMcGeown, who are running one
hundred marathons in one hundred days around
Ireland. The two guys, who have been inspired to
raise funds for children who need some help, are
running for two Irish based registered charities,
Cash for Kids and the Laura Maguire Foundation.
At this point, the guys have ran approximately
fifty back to back marathons, mostly in Phoenix
Park, Dublin and Gosford Park, Armagh, with
showings in a back to back marathon in Donegal, a
marathon in Derry, another in Newry, and quite a
few others. By dedicating four to five hours
every day to their task the guys are getting
faster and faster, and have been posting some
incredible times on their fan page on facebook
100 marathons in 100 days where thousands of
keen supporters are now tuning in to their daily
post run videos, and also showing up to run a few
miles to share a part of the journey. As each day
passes, Larry and Stevey are increasing the
consecutive day Irish marathon record, and at
this stage have ran well over twelve hundred
miles, with another twelve hundred plus to go. In
training for the huge challenge of running 100
marathons in 100 days, Larry and Stevey spent the
last two years in dedicated, rigorous and most
importantly consistent training, and competed in a

number of endurance events including the
gruelling 24 hour endurance event, the Race in
Donegal, where athletes run 50 miles, cycle 100
and climb Mount Muckish, one of Donegals highest
peaks. Additionally, they ran the four back to
back marathons in 4 days, also hosted in Donegal,
and a large number of regular marathons around
the country from Connemara to Belfast. Electricity
