Guru- Sishya Program
  • To improve the productivity of new staff.

What is Guru Sishya Program ?
  • Its a process through which new staffs will be
    monitored by senior employees from different
    branch in order to help all the new staffs
    achieve their targets in 45 days.
  • Once the target is achieved the senior monitor
    will be rewarded.

The Program in Details
  • All new staff must achieve their Target before 45
    days of their tenure
  • The RM/Branch in Charge/ Successful RE will be
    assigned the role of a Guru who in turn will be
    responsible for the performance of the new
    employee
  • He /She should handhold them in their initial
    days and give enough coaching on Product
    Processes  
  • Additional Scores will be given to the Guru in
    MYR
  • Score will be given to the Guru ,only if the new
    joiner meets the target within 45 Days of
    joining.
  • Assignment of Guru/Sishya should be done by the
    AM  in consultation with the HH Trainer
  • One Guru can coach any number of Sishyas as per
    the requirement
  • Guru should not be from the same branch

Why is this needed ?
  • The Sishya (new employee) knows exactly where
    he/she stands in relation to achieving goals and
    reaching performance milestones that contribute
    to career development , promotions, etc.
  • The Guru (senior employee) gains insight into the
    motivations of the people working with him/her
    through the required conversations.
  • The organization retains the motivated Sishya who
    understands their role and the roles of the Gurus
    in contributing to the overall success of the
    organization.
  • Identify performance difficulties early on,
    before they grow into larger problems.
  • Improve relationships between the new and old
    employees by creating a climate of trust.
  • Gurus will enjoy their job more and gain higher
    satisfaction once they know that people around
    them are appreciative and encouraging.

Performance Criteria
  • Specific , clear understandable.
  • Measureable , verifiable result-oriented.
  • Attainable , yet sufficiently challenging.
  • Relevant to the mission of the department/
    organization.
  • Time bound with the schedule specific
    milestones.

Possible Errors/Problems
  • Inadequately defined standards of performance.
  • Avoidance Guru does not do the evaluation. Lack
    of follow-up.
  • To much talking Guru. Lack of skill of Guru.
  • Comments regarding personality/attitude
    personal issues.
