Jessica Kahal was one of the best students at
Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. Along with
studies, she was well known for her active
participation in extracurricular activities,
especially, swimming and music. Owing to her
brilliant performance in a plethora of events,
she earned huge respect and recognition among her
peers and seniors.

Some of the awards she had received, included
Most Improved- Frosh/Soph Water Polo (1999), MVP-
Frosh/Soph Swimming (2000), Most Improved-
Advanced Orchestra (2001), National Honor
Society, and United States Marine Corps- Semper
Fidelis Bandsman Award (2003).

She participated in numerous swimming contests,
including Girl's Frosh/Soph and Varsity Water
Polo, Girl's Frosh/Soph and Varsity Swimming, and
San Pedro Peninsula YMCA Swim Team (Club Swim
team). Jessica Kahal was a participant in CIF
State Swimming as well as Diving Championships in
Long Beach in the year 2002. She was a part of
4x50 Medley Relay and 4x50 Freestyle Relay.

She was not only interested in swimming, but was
greatly fascinated by music as well. While
learning skills and techniques of swimming, she
was also learning how to play different musical
instruments. When she was a student in Palos
Verdes Peninsula High School, and a member of
Advanced Orchestra (2001), she was awarded the
Most Improved musician award. She learned and
practiced many advanced techniques that could
refine her musical skills.

She worked under Mr. Fesmire' s Marching
Band/Concert band for 4 years. Intermediate and
Advanced Orchestra, Asian American Youth Symphony
Orchestra, Choir and Jazz Choir, and High School
Musicals (Pit Orchestra), including Fame, West
Side Story, and Bye Bye Birdie are a few of the
musical groups and bands where she played a vital
role. Jessica Kahal had worked as a pool
lifeguard at Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills
Estate and at Concessions/Box Office in Regal
Cinemas The Avenue 13 in Rolling Hills Estates
for 2 years.
