A Success story of our Terrace Bar Be Q
Let me have the pleasure of sharing with you all
this amazing story of the opening of our TBBQ,
right from its concept, how it was born how
successfully we have managed to open our new
restaurant. Let me first start with it during its
initial stages. Firstly when I visited that
terrace space, I found it to be a 50 X 50 Sq. Ft.
open filthy area that was full of dust all
machineries lying open. After having a look at
that space, the concept of starting a restaurant
over there struck in my mind. After discussing
sharing this concept with my management, we
decided to start a restaurant with a totally
different concept. Since that area was completely
messy, it had to be converted into a dining place
we had decided to put all the machineries in
the corners cover it with a bamboo concept. So
we have made M.S frames developed bamboo
blocks. Then the second question was how to
develop a kitchen, that is how the concept of
BARBEQUE NATION came in my mind our local
vendor APOLLO KITCHEN EQUIPMENTS helped us in
developing the food counters. Once all this was
done, Mr.Kamal Galani visited us boosted our
confidence even helped us in providing tables
fixed with grillers chairs. Then with a set of
7 tables 42 chairs, the seating was done.
Slowly gradually we started taking up terrace
functions parties even had our Valentines
Day party organized over there. But since they
say that all good things dont come so easily,
similarly starting this rooftop BBQ was not so
easy for us. I remember one such party of IIM
students where they were having their gathering
on the rooftop suddenly some residents from the
adjoining A-9 Goyal Intercity flat starting
throwing eggs tomatoes at them from their
houses just to disrupt everything so that we get
disturbed. Since our hotel is located in the
midst of a residential society, initially it was
really tough for us to convince the members since
they started opposing that people in nearby
houses would get frustrated with the non - veg
food smell were not convinced with the idea of
starting a BBQ.
But even we never lost hope. We lodged a
complaint against those members at the police
station finally after serious discussions
requesting them that we too are a part of this
society that they finally compromised with us.
Then we had our corporate seniors Mr. Vijay
Bajpai Mr.Tajinder Singh who came down from
CDMS were very impressed with this concept
even motivated us. And here we were, sharing our
likes with that of the famous BARBEQUE NATION.
Then came our corporate from the culinary world,
Mr.Rishi Talwar who advised us a totally
different concept. Since our rooftop was sharing
its likes with that of BARBEQUE NATION, it was
totally dying down since it had a similar concept
of a normal BBQ restaurant. So then we came up
with the concept of serving lip smacking food
from the Middle East, Indian Sub Continent and
Far East where in we would be serving Barbequed,
Pan Grilled, Tava Grilled, Pan Fried Appetizers
as well as a unique feature of JAIN BBQ. Just a
few days prior to opening of our rooftop BBQ, we
realized that the flooring was not proper since
it looked filthy. Then at that time our very own
Mr.Kamal Galani suggested us the idea of
artificial grass even arranged the same within
2 days. That was like a silver lining to the
cloud it gave a very modern look to our
restaurant since 8 days of opening, yesterday
we had a maximum sale of 19,945/-
