The Task

• Our task was to take photos of a crime story wed
  created. We chose to do a murder story, where the
  murderer would strangle the victim and a passerby
  would find the body. Later, the murderer would be
  found out by a detective and would be sent to
  jail by a judge in court.
• The next slides show the event taking place in
  chronological order.

The murder
Heres a picture to show the victim being
strangled by the murderer.

Discovering The Body
Heres a picture of a passerby discovering the
body.

Heres an image of the passerby showing the
detective the body.

And finally, heres a picture of the Judge
sentencing the murderer in Court.

Changing the Narrative

• However, not all narratives strictly follow a
  chronological order. A lot of the time, the order
  is different, creating a more interesting and
  less predictable plot.
• Here are some examples

ORDER 2
A different order could be that it starts with
the court room scene, leaving the audience to
wonder why the character is in the court room and
what theyve done.
And then the story flash backs to the character
committing the murder as the court room works out
what happens. This could happen with the
detective and the witness as well, telling the
murderers story through a series of flashbacks.

Order 3
Another order could be where the detective and
witness find the body first, like what happens in
programs like Midsummer Murders.
They would then have to try and work out who did
it.

Order 3 - Continued
The detective could then work out who the
murderer is, accuse them
And expose how the murderer murdered their
victims in front of everybody.

Order 3 Continued Again
That would then result in the murderer being sent
to prison.

Order 4
The detective could begin with accusing the
murderer, leaving the audience wondering why and
what theyd done
They could tell the audience how a passerby found
the body.

And then then tell the audience how, after
examining the body
She realised that it had to be the person in
question!

This would lead to a court case.
And then the audience finally being told how they
murdered the victim.

Conclusion

• As you can see, the narrative order can change
  the story completely, allowing the audience to
  see different points of view and be drawn in by
  the enigma of What actually happened?
