• Why water needs to be purified

  On combining with water, extra oxygen is
  produced. This is because hydrogen peroxide
  disintegrates into oxygen and hydrogen.
  Increasing the level of oxygen in the water means
  increasing the purity of water.

• Hydrogen peroxide comes into great use in cooling
  towers. It may be used in such towers in
  combination with some disinfectants. The
  efficiency of hydrogen peroxide can be changed
  with the changes in temperature and also by
  changing the pH level. It also reduces pollution
  by reducing the intensity of chemicals in the
  water. These chemicals are dangerous as they
  pollute the water. Examples of such chemicals are
  iron and sulphur.

• An added advantage of hydrogen peroxide is that
  it is used more than any other method in local
  swimming pools. This is because it acts as a very
  good disinfectant. This disinfectant may be
  employed for reducing the chemicals in the pools.
  The chemicals it removes are known to cause
  rashes on our skin and allergies. This is mostly
  due to the use of chlorine.

  from being the most effective water purifying
  agent, also acts as an all rounder. These are the
  reasons why this method is preferred over other
  forms of treatment and processes. The removal of
  certain chemicals is extremely important as some
  chemicals act as toxicants and can reduce the
  purity level of water.
