In a recent interview with "Happening" magazine,
Gary Shoats opened up about his creative process.
According to Gary, the most important step in
logo design is to have clarity of thought. "So
you will need to sit down and pen down some ideas
around which you want the logo to be. And this
becomes clear only if you have sat down and
talked with the client", says Gary.

Gary has mentored many others during his career,
and most of the time he has one or another intern
working for him. His students end up working for
him, and then they learn even more on the job.
Gary is dedicated to his profession and believes
it is important to teach others as well.
