• ACHIEVEMENTS
• Made the presence of IGNOU felt in the State
• Undertaken various activities of the University
• as per Univ. schedules and on the
  instructions from the HQ
• The State Government has sponsored 200 Primary
  teacher trainees for CPE Programme for July 2006
  session.
• Opened a Study Centre at Jiribam Higher Sec.
  School (1709) in 2005-06.
• Opened a Programme Study Centre (1710P) at
  Churachandpur DIET for CPE Programme
• Proposal for opening another Programme Study
  Centre at Tamenglong for activation of CPE is
  under consideration

• SHORTCOMINGS
• Space constraints in the Regional Centres rented
  office
• building
• Repeated power failure and collapse of
  communication system in the region hamper our
  normal function
• Inability to activate some IGNOU Programmes due
  to want of suitable counsellors plus infra
  structure.
• Expected response from some technical
  institutions towards our proposal for
  activating some programmes not forthcoming

• SUGGESTIONS
• Strengthening of staff by regular appointment
  which pending
• Regularization of the existing staff who are on
• contract / daily wage basis
• To get the construction of the Permanent Regional
  Centre Office expedited
• To enhance remuneration of the part time staff at
  the Study Centres.
