Operation

• Will use solar energy to evaporate water in a
  container.
• The design will have two reservoirs, a top one
  for salt water or brackish water and a lower for
  clean water.
• Water will condensate on the top portion and drip
  down along the edge to a bottom reservoir.

Design

• All plastic assembly, two pieces.
• Integrated heat regenerator using condensation to
  decrease the needed time to evaporate.

Goals

• Must have a high enough capacity to provide water
  for one average adult.
• Must be small enough to be portable.
• Needs to be durable to take abuse.

Tasks

• Must design the distiller
• Design the mold for the plastic injection
• Calculate the optimum thermal design for the
  regenerator
• Select the materials
• Find a company who can produce a prototype
• Run tests to get the output equal to or greater
  than 3 liters a day.
