The Vision

• To collaborate on the creation of a dynamic
  showcase featuring New Jerseys finest Poets /
  Spoken Word artists
• Expand creativity and add new style to the
  poetry/spoken word genre

The Concept

• Bring together artists from diverse cultures and
  backgrounds to collaborate in spoken word and
  poetry pieces
• 3 5 people collaborations
• Staged pieces and solo performances in each show
• Audience participation featuring their own
  pieces of work at conclusion of show.
• Feedback from artists to audience participants
  regarding those pieces of work

The Ideas

• Artists will recognize women who were active
  during the suffrage era.
• Example Artist will recite piece in recognition
  of the 20,000 shirt-waist women workers who went
  on strike in NYC 1909
• Artists will collaborate on various types of
  pieces
• Example Singer and poet collaboration , recite
  tribute piece to all women
• Current and historical issues will be touched
• Example Artist will recite composition
  recognizing the women of yesterday and today who
  have struggled for equal rights and fare wages to
  all women
