Introduction

• Avril Lavigne is a very talented Canadian
  artist. This punk-rock entertainer seems to have
  the world by the tail right now. People believe
  she will most likely entertain us for many years
  to come. Recently, she won several awards during
  Canadas Juno award ceremonies. Avril made her
  debut in 2001 with her big hit Complicated.

Her Childhood

• When Avril was little, she was interested
  in many different activities. For example, she
  used to get up on her bed and sing at the top of
  her lungs and pictured that there were people
  watching her performance. She also played hockey
  in the fall and winter. Even today, she describes
  herself as a tomboy.

Family

• Avril has a career, but she also has a family.
  She has a brother, Matthew, who is 19 and a
  sister, Michelle, who is presently 14. Her
  parents names are John and Judy. The Lavigne
  family has a pet dog named Sam which is a
  Miniature Schnauzer.

Accomplishments

• Avril has set a new record by topping the charts
  with her hit song Complicated. This smash hit
  was at the top of the record charts for 11
  consecutive weeks. Avril broke the previous
  record that Madonna had established with her
  song Music which was at the top for 10 weeks.
  As you can see, Avril who is just establishing
  her career has already accomplished more than she
  could have imagined.

Other Interesting Facts

• Avril thinks she is a lot like the Energizer
  Bunny, she thinks it is a good description of
  her.
• Avril is also a vegetarian.
• People often call her the Anti-Britney because
  of her appearance and personality.
