• an opportunity to see the guts of the computer-
• motherboard, video card, sound card, modems
• Computer Labs
• 7 labs (High School)
• 6 labs (Middle School)
• 386/486/Pentium IIs
• Systems are on a 6 year cycle
• servers are on a 4 year cycle
• Proxy Vs.. Server
• High School and Middle School use the same one-
• located at GMS
• server acts as a file storage cabinet which
  other machines may access and withdraw the data.
• proxy saves connections which have been received
  through the server, so the next time a student
  comes to connect to that site the server doesnt
  have to connect to the site (it is stored).
