Application Process Eligibility
  • Eligible Applicants for Current SGA 03-114
  • Business-led partnerships that consist of at
    least two businesses or a business-related
    nonprofit organization that represents more than
    one business.
  • Partnership may include any educational, labor,
    faith-based or community organization, or
    workforce board.
  • Applications must be received by the closing date
    of the SGA 400 p.m. EST, September 22, 2003.

  • Part I of the Proposal consists of
  • SF 424 (Application for Federal Assistance)
  • Budget form
  • Project Profile (Appendix E to the SGA)
  • Part II of the Proposal consists of
  • Technical proposal that describes the applicants
    capabilities to plan and implement an H-1B
    technical skills training program per the SGA
    requirements

  • Technical Review Panels will meet after September
    22 to review all applications
  • Funding decisions are based on how completely
    applicants respond to
  • Compliance with Basic Requirements
  • Priorities and Considerations stipulated in the
    SGA and Applicable Legislation
  • Six Rating Criteria

  • offering more courses
  • Projects resulting from collaborations,
    especially with

  • a labor-management training program or project.

  • Providing a specific commitment from other public
    or private sources, or both, to demonstrate the
    long-term sustainability of the training program
    or project after the grant expires.
  • Fair distribution of the grants across rural and
    urban areas, and across the different geographic
    regions of the United States.

  • Final Decisions are made by the Grant Officer and
    are based on what is most advantageous to the
    Federal Government.
  • Applicants will receive written notice of their
    evaluation.
  • Applicants may expect notification of the results
    in approximately 6-8 weeks after the closing date.
