Concept 1 How to Print PowerPoint Slides as
Handouts

• Some times when working in Blackboard, Powerpoint
  presentations will come up in Internet Explorer
• When they do, just clicking the Printer icon will
  make them print out one page at a time which will
  use up your balance quickly
• Follow the following directions to print them as
  handouts

Step 1 Printing PowerPoint as Handouts

• Right click on the PowerPoint slide itself and
  choose Print to get PowerPoint handout options.

Step 2 Configure the handouts for printing

• Under Print What, drop the menu down and select
  Handouts. Under Color/Grayscale drop the menu
  down and select Grayscale. This preserves the
  slides content without printing the dark
  backgrounds.

Concept 2 Printing Adobe Files with Multiple
Sheets Per Page

• Often an instructor will publish a PDF file for
  you to print out of Blackboard
• If you dont follow this procedure when opening
  PDF files for printing, you could end up printing
  one large sheet for each page of the PDF file in
  Adobe Reader

Step 1 Right click inside the Adobe PDF file

• When the file comes up, dont click the printer
  icon at the top for printing. Instead, right
  click on the slide itself and choose Print.

Step 2 Configuring Multiple Pages

• Look under the Page Handling section and drop
  down the Page Scaling menu. Select Multiple
  Pages Per Sheet. For Pages Per Sheet, select
  Custom and 1 by 3. Make sure Page Order is
  Horizontal.

Concept 3 Printing Double Sided

• Printing double sided pages costs the same amount
  as printing single sided so you should print
  double sided when you have the opportunity

How to Print Double Sided

• On the first page, select Properties. You will
  see the screen above. Click on Two-sided Duplex
  Printing.
