Abraham Lincoln was born on Sunday, February
12th, 1809. He was the son of Thomas and Nancy
Hanks Lincoln. His mother and father were
Baptists. Thomas Lincoln was a carpenter. Nancy
Hanks Lincoln died from milk sickness, which
comes from cows, which have eaten poisonous
snakeroot. His father died in 1851. When Abraham
Lincoln grew up, he wrote a proclamation. He
became known for his opposition to the Mexican
war and the slavery. When he became a president,
there was a war. The south of America had slaves
and the north of America had no slaves, so
Abraham Lincoln fought against the south. Finally
the north won. When Abraham Lincoln was watching
a play, then a man a came and shot him. Everyone
was very sad.
