What you are Getting Into?
  • Rancho Cucamonga Marching Cougars (RCMC) is a
    great organization that involves not only the
    students, but the parents as well
  • Parents are needed to help run the program
  • During the band season, your student will spend
    several hours at school for practice
  • Two ½ weeks in August will be Band Camp a
    must
  • Yes, your student can do band and another sport
    at the same time

Support System
  • As a new student to RCMC, the music council and
    your section leaders are there to answer any
    questions you may have
  • As a parent, reach out to a board members for
    answers see www.rchsbands.org for board members
    contact information
  • The student handbook gives information about the
    band, your childs responsibilities and the
    payment schedule.
  • Come to the board meetings 2nd Monday of the
    month. Time is 7 8 and the meeting take place
    in the band room. (Aprils will be the 3rd Monday
    due to Quakes game)
  • Booster meeting is the best place for parents to
    learn about the program

Costs
  • Band is not cheap we do provide ways to earn
    money
  • Additional Freshmen costs one time cost
  • Color Guard
  • Estimated Band fees 850.00
  • Band shoes, warm up suit, gloves - 102.00
  • Same band fees, but additional costs for
    equipment, shoes, uniform etc.

How DO you pay for Band?
  • We try and provide several fundraiser throughout
    the year to help offset the cost of the program.
    Although as freshmen parents coming in, most
    fundraisers do not begin until the band season
    begins.
  • So to help get a jump start, we now offer
    freshmen parent the option to participate in
    fundraisers that start in April.

  • Work the Quakes - RCMC provide staff for two
    concession stands at the Quakes stadium.
  • All students 15 and older can work
  • Parent are dispersedly needed to work as well
  • Working several games during the season can pay
    your band fees, help with Paris and get you
    started on next year

season)
  • Program Ads
  • This fundraiser will begin in April of this year
    and end August 13th.
  • Get business to buy spaces in the program. The
    lowest price is 25.00 which to your student
    account will earn 20.00
  • Come out to the April Boosters meeting to pick
    up order forms and get more information

  • Sees candy
  • Christmas Wreaths
  • Cookie Dough
  • Taste of Rancho Ticket sales
  • Purchase Scrip
  • A large percentage of sells for these fund
    raisers go directly to your students account
  • Spirit Night at restaurants
  • WalMart Car Wash
  • Money earned from these events go into the
    general account

Winter Guard Drum Line Season
  • Tryouts are in November
  • Practice begins Dec/Jan
  • Competitions begin in Feb
  • Costs range 1600 - 1800
  • Two out of town trips

All Band Fees must be up to date in order to

How DO I pay for It?
  • Gift Wrapping
  • Wal Mart Car Washes
  • Yard Sales

All drum line and guard fees must be paid off in
order to attend the out of town activities

Paris Dec 07
  • In 2005 RCMC was invited to Paris to perform in
    two in their New Years parades. This was a 1st
    for the band.
  • There is still time for your student and you to
    go to Paris this Dec
  • The cost is 2500.00 per person

As the current RCMC Booster President I invite
you out to our April 16th boosters meeting.
Come learn more about the program. Bring your
questions to this meeting. I also strongly
encourage you to sign up to work the Quakes. All
parents, aunts, uncles, etc are invited to work.
