  • Stage 3 -500 applicants assessed
  • Stage 3 408 deemed appointable (82)
  • Review foundation competencies ongoing
  • 280 programmes being offered
  • MTAS candidates were free to apply to multiple
    specialties so
  • May get further drop outs
  • May need further recruitment round

  • Allocation process beginning
  • Offers will be sent out
  • PDs and local administrator to get list of the
    successful applicants
  • To better manage workload make decisions with
    your administrator how placements / queries will
    be handled
  • DONT FORGET your deferments maternity leave and
    any interdeanery transfers
  • At ST3 remember transfers and some returners to
    try and place

Update - Recruitment
  • Expansion of GP Specialty programmes
  • PMETB approval needed if
  • New specialties being included
  • Hybrids will be considered GP placements so we
    believe no need for new approval of these
  • BUT we also need to get approval for any scheme
    where numbers have increased so in reality most
    schemes will need to complete new paperwork
  • Awaiting further national guidance

  • How best to include new FY2 CS and CES into your
    local education network?
  • Allocations for 2008-9
  • List being sent to ADs for onward dissemination
    - number of placements we understand you have
  • GPs in the GP educator pathway who ideally should
    have experience FY2
  • BUT need to be locally sensitive
  • Look at the list let Steve know your planned
    placements (as we need this info centrally to
    sign off the SLAs)

  • Any ES not done reports URGENT need
  • GPStRs starting out of synch reviews at 6 month
    intervals from start date

    2 CS reports and 2 ES reports
  • ARCP panels running from 16th June
  • all GPStRs reviewed if on maternity / sick
    this is noted and doctor will be formally
    reviewed on their return to work

  • Results in written summary (ES report) and an
    agreed PDP
  • In ST3 GPStRs need to be prepared for ongoing
    annual appraisal

    from ARCP panel
