What is a Brownfield?
  • Property that the expansion, redevelopment, or
    reuse of which is complicated by the presence or
    potential presence of environmental contamination
  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates
    that there are more than 450,000 brownfields in
    the United States

  • Added uncertainty associated with the cost and
    schedule of environmental cleanup
  • Added complexity with potential grant
    applications and additional team members needed
