The Problem --Why?

• Some information is unique with respect to the
  manufacturing location
• PDM systems must have enough information about
  the manufacturing process to allow determination
  of the manufacturing feasibility and to do cost
  analysis

Goal

• Provide support for PDM systems to track
  information that is specific to the manufacturing
  location but do not usurp the role of the MES
  Enabler
• Based on existing standards (AP214)
