2What is the Praxis II Principles of Learning and
Teaching Test?
- The PLT is a pedagogical test,
- one of four state EYE requirements, and
- is required for all teachers with a Level 1
license whose employment or reemployment in the
Utah public schools began after January 1, 2003,
to advance to a Level 2 license.

6Where are tests given?
- Check the bulletin for locations near you (U of
U, WSU, SUU, USU, BYU, UVSC, etc). - List as your first choice the location with which
you are most comfortable. - Early registrants are more likely to get their
first choice. - Register as early as possible.
7What do I need to take with me on test day?
- Registration ticket (When you register online,
you will need to print out your registration
ticket). - 2 or HB pencils, a good eraser, and a blue or
black pen (mechanical pencils cannot be used). - Valid identification with signature and
photograph (i.e. passport, drivers license,
state, military, or national ID).
8Who sees my scores?
- The Utah State Office of Education (USOE)
automatically receives your scores and records
them in CACTUS. - You may also have your scores sent to other state
agencies or institutions of higher education. - You will receive your own report.
9Can I be reimbursed for registration and test
fees for the PLT?
- Yes. Pass the test with a score of 160 or higher,
then send a copy of your score and proof of
payment to Suzanne Cottrell or Elaine Endo in
Staff Development. Reimbursement takes 4-6 weeks.

- There is no penalty for wrong answers.
- Never leave any answer blank.
- Its not what you know that matters, its just
which circle you fill in. - Do your work in the test booklet.
18PLT Constructed Response
- Details provide details, examples, and arguments
to support the topic sentence - Grammar, punctuation, spelling edit sentences to
conform to standard usage - Avoid passive construction write actively and
avoid the passive voice - Conclusion end the written assignment with a
paragraph that summarizes your main points

- You have only about seven minutes to write each
response.

- Wednesday get some sharpened No. 2 pencils, blue
or black pens, a digital watch or pocket clock,
and a good big eraser and put them aside
