Title: PLUTO

1
St. John the Baptist
PLUTO
By Matthew H and Callum F
2
Pluto is over three and a half billion miles (
5,913,520,000 km ) from the Sun.
3
Pluto is the smallest planet in our solar system.
Pluto wasn't discovered by scientists until 1930.
4
It takes almost 250 Earth years for Pluto to
revolve around the Sun. For 20 years (from 1979
to 1999) Pluto and Neptune crossed orbits. This
meant Pluto was closer to the Sun than Neptune .
5
The surface is covered with rocks and frozen ice.
Pluto is like a rocky snowball in space. The
light from the Sun looks very dim from Pluto.
6
Pluto is the only planet not yet visited or
viewed close-up by spacecraft. Photos from the
Hubble Telescope do not tell us much about the
planet.
