YOUR HANDBOOK TO THE PURIM CARNIVAL
Purim Carnival
In this brochure, you will find much needed
information about Shir Ami Sisterhoods annual
Purim Carnival, everything from how to buy
tickets, what games and crafts will be available,
how many tickets will be needed for each
activity, food that can be purchased, and much
more!! What exactly is the Purim Carnival? The
Purim Carnival is an event sponsored by the
Sisterhood of Shir Ami. It is a fun-filled
family day. It has a carnival-like atmosphere
with games, food, prizes, face painting, and
balloons.
Who runs the Purim Carnival? The Sisterhood of
Shir Ami as well as parents and students!! We
rely on volunteers. My children cant attend the
Purim Carnival. Can they still participate in
any aspect? Yes, they can make treasure jars and
donate cakes. How many tickets should I buy for
my child for games and food? This is a tough
onecheck the pages with the activities and food
selections. Each page has the cost in tickets of
each item. The average ticket purchase will
probably be 10.00 to 20.00 or 50 to 100
tickets. All items will be paid with tickets.
Tickets will be used to purchase all food, games,
crafts, and candy grams. Do a quick add up of
what your children may want to play or eat during
the carnival. Remember to consider how long you
may stay at the carnival and if your children
will be participating in activities that require
more tickets like candy sundaes, treasure jars,
and cake walk. Please remember, you can always
purchase additional tickets the day of the Purim
Carnival. Can young preschool age children find
things to do a the Purim Carnival? Absolutely!!
We have a number of great games and crafts for
young children like duck pond, lollipop tree,
buried treasure, and penny toss to name a
few. How about older children? We have treasure
jars, candy sundaes, cake walk, and our new King
Ahasuerus Sport Zone! Come check it
out! Anything for the parents? While you are not
volunteering, we have blackjack, money wheel and
many other fun activities. Enjoy a cup of hot
coffee or our delicious food in the food court.

CAKE/COOKIE WALK
TREASURE JARS
We need you!! This game was a big hit last year,
but we need more cakes/cookies donated.
Back by popular demand! Treasure jars are a
great way for children to contribute to the
success of the Purim Carnival. Here is how it
works 1. Take any size jar or plastic
container. 2. Fill it with small items such as
any wrapped candy, stickers, small toys, fun
jewelry, or anything else that might be
interesting. 3. Decorate the jar with materials
of your choice. 4. Bring the completed
jars Thursday, March 5th between 900AM and
930AM in front of the library. Friday, March
6th between 900AM and 930AM in front of the
library. Saturday, March 7th between 1000AM and
100PM in the main office. Sunday, March 8th
between 900AM and 100PM in the social
hall. Questions? Call Diane Dienstman at (215)
579-4571 or Donna Goodman at (215) 355-2422.
Look for examples of the TREASURE JARS in the
display case near the Sisterhood Gift Shop and in
the Pre-School Office. Gather your jars, fill,
decorate, and help the Sisterhood of Shir Ami!!
Remember, the more jars donated, the longer the
game will be open during the Purim Carnival.
Please consider donating a cake, muffins,
brownies, loaf cake, or cookies to the Purim
Carnival. What is the Cake/Cookie Walk? The
Cake/Cookie Walk is a game played at the Purim
Carnival. It is similar to musical chairs. Nine
people play the game at one time. The music
starts and everyone walks in a circle from one
numbered tile to another. When the music stops,
everyone is standing on a number. If your number
is selected, you may take the baked good of your
choice!! If your number is not selected, you
will receive 1 shekel! This game costs 8
tickets. It is fun and yummy at the same time!!
Butwe cannot do it without your help. Please
fill out the form below. Drop off your donations
in these locations and times Thursday, March
5th between 900AM and 930AM in front of the
library. Friday, March 6th between 900AM and
930AM in front of the library. Saturday, March
7th between 1000AM and 100PM in the main
office. Sunday, March 8th between 900AM and
100PM in the social hall. Questions? Call Diane
Dienstman at (215) 579-4571 or Donna Goodman at
(215) 355-2422.
