  • New electoral laws only give you hours to enrol
    once an election is called.
  • IF YOU ARE NOT ENROLLED TO VOTE you need to act
    now and make sure you get to have your say.

  • You need to enrol to vote or update your
    enrolment details if-
  • You recently turned 18
  • Will be turning 18 this year
  • If you dont act now
  • you may miss out-
  • rolls will be closed at 8pm
  • on the day the election is called.

  • If you are already enrolled but have
  • changed address
  • you only have
  • 3 working days
  • to update your details once the election is
    called.
  • SO MAKE THE CHANGES NOW!

  • A NEW CITIZEN?
  • If you are
  • becoming an Australian citizen
  • after the election is called but before polling
    day you only have
  • 3 working days
  • to enrol once the election is called.

Other Important Changes to Know
  • There are new
  • proof of identity requirements
  • for people enrolling or updating their
    enrolment.
  • Your drivers licence number must be provided on
    your enrolment application.
  • If you do not have a drivers licence, you can
    show an approved identity document (e.g.
    passport) to an approved person (not a relative),
    who is on the electoral role and who can attest
    to your identity.
  • There are also new proof of identity requirements
    for provisional voting.

  • An election can be called any time so you need
    to act now.
