Causes of Tension
  • Physical problems
  • Children cannot handle the situation

  • Consider the needs of others
  • Observe children closely
  • Handling Stealing make the child applogize and
    give back the object
  • Reduce times that they can steal

    the child
  • 18 month olds have the most tantrums

  • Insecure children typically tattle to get
    attention
  • Be aware of classroom rules, do not need to be
    told when someone else breaks a rule unless it
    harms you, themselves, or others
  • Build a childs self esteem
  • Incorporate one on one time for listening into
    daily activities

Exploring the Body
  • One year olds explore genitals at diaper change
    time
  • Interest in this area grows as there body
    functions increase
  • Learn more and more as they grow about bigger
  • Tell them there is a time and place to explore,
    only in private

  • Comfort to relieve stress and help them sleep
  • Bad for the teeth
  • Pacifier does not put pressure on the roof of the
    mouth
  • Several products you can put on thumb or pacifier
    to discourage use

Fear
  • By three, usually fear all kinds of things- pets,
    imaginary objects, monsters, water, noises, the
    dark, etc..
  • Understand that fears are due to unfamiliar
    surroundings
  • Hold hands, have them sit in your lap, act out
    situations, talk about realistic situations,
    offer advice for how they can be in control
