Reassignment Period
Up to 6 Months in Regular Layoff Period
Termination of Employment Relationship AND
Vacation Payout
Written Notification to Employee
Separation Pay
Department Should Process 1) PAF with Action of
Leave of Absence (LOA) and Reason of Special
Leave Status (SLS) 2) Additional Pay Form for
Separation Pay to be paid in a lump sum. 3) Pay
out Personal Days for Exempt staff.
  • Department Should Process
  • PAF with Action of Termination and Reason of
    Elimination of Position (ELI)
  • PMF to inactivate the Position being eliminated
  • Additional Pay Form for Lump Sum Vacation Payout
    (unless previously requested by staff member)

The vacation payout can occur at the end of
separation pay or at the end of the 6 month
period at the request of the employee. If the
payout is not processed prior to termination, the
payout will occur as a lump sum at termination.
