Hokusai s childhood

• Hokusai was born in Toyko in 1760
• Hokusais father polished mirrors, although
  Hokusai wanted to draw he had to work.
• At age 18 Hokusai worked for an artist named
  Shunshõ.
• Hokusai was inspired by the artists style, that
  he called himself Shunshõ.

Katsushikas Style

• Katsushika worked a lot with wood carvings.
• He did paintings, greeting cards, wood blocks,
  and engraved wood.

Later Life

• Hokusai was married 3 times.
• Hokusai was drawing since he was 6 years old to
  89 years old.
• Hokusai changed his name 30 times and his
  residence over 90 times.
