Communication
  • Express Gratitude for what you do have create a
    climate of belief in Gods abundance
  • Honor your donors with appreciation tell the
    story of how their gift/money makes a difference
  • How are we doing towards our goals?

Expressing Gratitude
  • People give to winners not whiners
  • People want to know where the money goeshow does
    it support ministry?
  • People need to be inspired to give from the heart
  • Discipleship includes regular giving ask for
    what you want and be specific

What is our Attitude?
  • Whatever you believe is true
  • Can you make Stewardship education a priority
  • Can you educate members on their opportunity to
    support mission and ministry
  • Do you talk about success or failures
  • Do you have a vision of where you are going

Education Needs to Inspire
  • Personal Testimony and Witness - Find people who
    give on a regular basis and ask them to write an
    article about why they give to the United
    Methodist Church
  • Offer Sunday School classes to all ages and use
    new stewardship resources to discuss various
    aspects of stewardship not just money

Invitation
  • Bold discipleship includes worship, prayer,
    fasting, and GIVING. Why are we afraid to ask
    for money?
  • Let the donor choose, dont choose for them
  • Make sure you have systems in place to honor your
    donors
  • Offer Electronic giving as an option

Back at home
  • Send out thank you letters to all members
  • Include a list of all the things that need to be
    done projects, programs, current NARRATIVE
    budget to pay (including Shared Ministry at 100)
  • Ask for prayerful consideration by your members
    to increase their giving if they can
  • Make sure that the Treasurer is on board with
    your plan and goals

  • Change something and expect positive results
  • Regardless of the economic conditions we are
    still a community of faithful followers of Jesus
  • Giving is our response to Gods love for us
