  • The biggest library on campus
  • Has most materials in the areas of the
    humanities, social sciences, education, fine
    arts, or environmental studies
  • Contains Archives and Special Collections (third
    floor), Map Library (first floor), Sound Moving
    Image Library (for videos, DVDs and more)

Bronfman Business Library
  • Serves all business programs on campus including
    the School of Administrative Studies
  • Located on the second floor of the Schulich
    School of Business, S237

Steacie Science Engineering Library
  • Provides resources to support programs in the
    sciences, engineering, and nursing.
  • Its in the Steacie building

  • Supports law programs or courses on campus
  • Located in the Osgoode Hall Law School

Getting Your Library Card
  • The YU-Card, your official photo ID card, is your
    library card
  • The card has your library barcode on it
  • The YU-Card is also your print/photocopy card.
  • To learn more about how to get your YU-card, the
    uses of the card, and what to do if you lose
    yours, see http//www.yorku.ca/yucard/
  • You may use your Passport York ID to book a group
    study room, to renew books, and for off-campus
    access to e-Resources.

Computer Facilities at York University Libraries
  • York students should obtain an Acadlabs logonto
    use computers at the Libraries
  • Provides access to library e-resources, Internet,
    and in most cases Microsoft Office applications
    and access to space on a network drive to save
    files

Group study rooms can be booked online at most of
the Libraries by clicking here on the web site

Photocopying/Printing Services at York University
Libraries
  • Printing available from all computers
  • Photocopiers available at all Libraries
  • Your YU card is your print/copy card and you can
    add value at each library (minimum 5) 9 cents
    for black/white printing/copying, 25 cents for
    colour.

Guides which provide lists of key journal
article databases for a given subject. A journal
article database can be used to search for
articles on a chosen topic in a field e.g. use
PsycInfo listed in the Psychology guide to
search for articles on psychology topics

Accessing Electronic Resources from Home
  • To use library eResources (items like databases
    and full text electronic journals) from home, you
    must be a registered York student
  • When you click on links to e-journals or
    databases on the Libraries site you will be
    prompted for
