Title: Development of New Technology and Equipment for Production of BIODIESEL
1- Development of New Technology and Equipment for
Production of BIODIESEL
2General information about Biodiesel
- Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel
- Advantages of Biodiesel
- Reproducible raw materials
- Independence from oil and natural gas
- Will allow to meet the requirements of Euro IV
standards (decrease of ??2 , sulfur, and aromatic
in exhausts) - Non-toxic, biodegradable
- High lubricity
- In 2004 the world output of oil-yielding crops is
expected to be 357.5 million tons

- Decrease in value of raw materials (cost of
refined vegetable oil is higher than the cost of
crude vegetable oil by 20-25 ) - Simplification of the process flow diagram and
decrease of operating costs
5
6Ways to Decrease Production Expense
- Alteration of the technology
- Use acid catalyst instead of base one
- Increase the process temperature
- Formation of local surplus of alcohol in the
reaction zone - Expected Advantages
- Lowering the requirements to the quality of feed
stocks (using crude vegetable oil) - Simplification of the separation stage and
excluding the process of soap washing - Reduction in amount of production equipment
- Increase the process rate
- Elimination the stages of alcohol stripping

10Conclusions
- Development of the proposed technology will
allow - To extend sources of raw materials to apply
both unrefined vegetable oil and waste vegetable
oil - To lower capital expenditure for building of new
plants due to simplification of the technology - To lower operations costs due to reduction of
resources consumption and waste quantity - Expected result cost saving by 15-20
