9
Vision of DigiUtility
  • The concept of DigiUtility covers both the
physical power grid and the business process. The
vision of DigiUtility is presented as three
aspects, namely the digitization of grid
    controlling, automation of business processing
    and integration of company management.
  • .

Grid controlling digitization
Business processing automation
DigiUtility
Corporation management integration
10
The Definition of DigiUtility
  • Grid controlling digitization
  • - It requires the digitization of measuring,
monitoring, protecting and controlling both the
power equipments and the power system.
  • The major systems involved Substation
    Automation system (SA), distribution automation
system (DA), Digital Protection Relay (DPR) and
    Equipment Condition Monitoring system (ECM),
    SCADA/EMS, Outage Management System (OMS),
Automatic Meter Reading system (AMR) and Load
    Control system, etc.

11
The Definition of DigiUtility

(DMS), AM/FM/GIS, Plant maintenance system and
Customer Information System (CIS/CRM), ERP system
and power market trading system, etc.
  • Company management integration
  • It is presented as the integration of corporate
    management applications. It covers the
    information sharing, integrating of procedures
and applications on business processing level as
well as on analysis decision making level.

Status quo in 2005 (I)
  • Leading local electric power company in China
    well-performed in power system operation,
    customer service and turnovers, etc..
  • Have a high level on infrastructure construction
    and operation management
  • substation automation system and EMS/SCADA is
    widely used
  • Core business process systems like ERP, PMS, CIS,
EMS etc. have been implemented and used for
years. The ERP system can support major
    management processes in FI/CO,PS,PM,MM,HR which
    based on SAP R/3 platform.

20
Status quo in 2005(II)
  • Advanced application of power system analysis and
    controlling needs deep exploitation.
  • The distribution automation systems and customer
side digital facilities are still at the early
    stage and are relatively small-scaled
  • Complicated business application and newly
explored fields, such as business intelligence
and field force enhancement, generate new demands
    on IT systems.
  • Cross department and full value chain procedure
    supporting capability is deficient.

21
Achievements
  • Grid supervision digitization
  • Business processing automation
  • Corporate management integration

22
Grid supervision digitization (I)-AMR
  • AMR
  • The pilot of energy acquisition system has
completed and it will cover customers above 50
    KVA .
  • The pilot of scale application of AMR completed
in 2006. It has been rolled out for two phases
    since 2007.
  • The functions of metering , reading and load
    controlling is gradually being integrated
together both in a single IED and one unified
    back system.

23
Grid supervision digitization (II)-DSCADA
  • D-SCADA SCADA for Distribution system.
  • The pilot of DSCADA system has been completed and
    is now promoted widely.
  • PLC and wireless communication technology have
been widely adopted in field application.
  • Digital Substation for substation automation
  • Special subject research on digital substation
has been completed (IEC-61850, OCT/OPT). Two
110kV pilot digital substations is on
    construction.

24
Grid supervision digitization (III)-AEMS
  • AEMS Advanced EMS
  • Strengthen and upgrade the function of present
EMS by advanced hybrid control system theory
  • Multi-layer, multi-objective optimizing approach
to coordinate AGC and AVC controls to improve the
stability safety of the Shanghai power system,
power quality and economy and preventing from
    large scale blackout accident.
  • The first phase of HAVC and HAGC implemented at
    the end of 2007.

Corporation Management Integration ( I )
  • Integrated Data Platform
  • Developed the real-time data platform (similar
to PI of OSIsoft )based on Oracle database and
carry out necessary expansion and optimization
  • Construction and management of core data
model-data model is in compliance with IEC 61968
    / 61970 standard
  • Universal data access-UIB function(GDA?TSDA?HSDA)
  • Integrate SCADA?DSCADA?AMR.

service of application system, data integration
    and process integration.
  • System management module of EAI platform, provide
    functions of configuration, management, system
    monitoring, and maintenance.

EAI platform is the core engine of enterprise
application integration and the basis of
enterprise information construction to SOA.
30
Corporation Management Integration (III)
  • Data interconnection of PMS and CMS
  • important data basis of enterprise application
    integration
  • objective is to establish the association between
    grid and customer information
  • including data census and dynamic maintenance
    stages
  • realize information exchanges by EAI platform,
