This is the power of the story .We can remember
it even we are getting old so Im going to speak
about teaching the 4 skills through stories.

Activity(1)
  • The class should be divided into three groups.
  • The first group will be given a story. They must
    act it out
  • The second group will be some pictures .They
    must number them and tell a story about the
    pictures
  • The third group will be given sentences, and they
    will rearrange it to make a complete story.

Does this activity succeed in using
stories to teach the skills?

Activity(2)
Every group will be given a sentence. It will be
the beginning of a story .Students have to
continue the sentence, making it a complete
story. Then each group will choose one member to
read it in front of the class.

Activity(3)
The teacher tells a story to the class. The
students should listen to him careful. Then they
will be given some pictures to arrange them
according the incidents of the story.

Why storytelling ?
Having students to tell stories from their lives
or listening to stories is one way to help them
connect meaningfully with the language. The more
meaningfully connection, the more learning will
take place.

  • As learning tool , stories can encourage
    students to explore their unique expressiveness.
  • And high lighten students ability to
    communicate through thoughts and feelings in an
    articulate lucid manner.
  • Storytelling can be nurturing way to remind
    students with the spoken language.
