    County and the City of Rome.

  • The 911 Center is staffed with 28 highly trained
    professional dispatch employees who field
    hundreds of incoming calls each day, make sense
    out of chaos, determine the best course of action
    and quickly forward that information to the
    appropriate public safety resource.

  • The Center is equipped with some of the most
    modern and technologically advanced equipment
    systems, including a fully enhanced 911 system
    that automatically displays telephone number and
    location of 911 calls made from wire-line and
    wireless telephones, and a computer aided
    dispatch system that tracks all calls for
    service, law enforcement, fire and medical
    activities.

  • The Center has one Systems Support Technician
    who is responsible for implementing and
    maintaining all computer, mapping, paging systems
    and systems software.

  • The Center also employs an Administrative Clerk
    who processes false alarm data and provides audio
    and hardcopies of calls for various agencies, as
    well as the public.

  • The 2008 operating budget for the 911 Center
    is 1,691,690.00.
  • The budget is supplemented by 1.50 fees
    collected from wire-line and wireless phones.
  • In 2007 989,406.53 was collected from wireless
    phones and 685,799.32 was collected from
    wire-lines for a total of 1,675,285.85.
