Why this course
  • In the ever changing field of Information
Systems, you must prepare to train, train, and
train again. Network Operating Systems surpass
their competitors every day. We, as
Administrators and Users, must adapt in this fast
paced field of study. This course is designed to
alleviate any doubts or concerns when working
with NetWare. We will cover in a hands-on
fashion every thing from defining Network System
components to working with eDirectory Security.

3
Job/Task
  • In the IT field, we battle the war over network
operating systems (NOS). There have been and
probably always will be a disagreement over which
is the better platform to use whether it is
Novell, UNIX or Microsoft. It is our jobs as
Administrators to clear up any misconceptions
that our users may have toward the companies
chosen Network Operating System. We must train
each and every user to the best of our ability to
produce knowledgeable have a better understanding
    of networks and file structure.

4
Justification for Training
  • Computer networks are the livelihood of many of
    us.
  • Critical data is formed daily to ensure
    productivity for your institution.
  • Networks allow us to perform mission critical
tasks timely and with great efficiency.
  • The need for securing your network data is
    imperative
  • Learn day to day functions

5
Target Audience
  • This course is intended for anyone currently
working in and/or administering a Novell NetWare
6.0 network. To be most comfortable in this
course, you should have a background in basic
computer concepts and worked with a Windows
    desktop environment.
  • The target audience

10
Topic of Choice
  • Novell NetWare is the network operating system
(NOS) that I teach and work with everyday. I
believe it to be a very secure NOS. It is my
hope that others will come to realize how
    dependable it can be.

11
COI problems/challenges
  • My biggest challenge was deciphering each section
and figuring out how the COI went together. To
me it was like a puzzle that had to be carefully
put together. Once I understood, it fell into
    place nicely.

12
Do it all over again?
  • I plan on expanding my COI further. My plans are
to put it into production in my NetWare class.
So, I benefited from this tremendously.

Advice for future designers
  • Pick something that you enjoy and read everything
    early on! )
