DAILY SCHEDULE
  • School begins at 810 a.m.
  • Be here by 8 and youll never be late!
  • Students should not be dropped of at school
    before 730 a.m.
  • Daily dismissal time is 3 p.m. except Wednesdays
    (1245 p.m.)

Student Planner
  • An important organizational tool.
  • Contains school rules and important information
    as well as assignment pages to keep track of
    assigned work.
  • A binder reminder is provided to every student at
    no cost to the student and all students are
    required to use it.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
  • All students will participate in a daily physical
    education class.
  • Students are required to wear P.E. uniforms.
  • P.E. uniforms will be on sale immediately
    following this presentation and during the first
    week of school.

  • BREAKFAST (1.50)
  • LUNCH (2.50)
  • Free or reduced to those who qualify
  • Note Free/reduced lunch applications must be
    completed every year

LUNCH TIME
  • Students may bring their own lunch or purchase
    food from the cafeteria.
  • Helpful Tip During the first few days of school
    the lunch lines are always chaotic. Student
    anxiety during this time can be greatly reduced
    by bringing your own lunch to school. Research
    indicates that lunches brought from home are
    generally more nutritious than lunches produced
    in school cafeterias.

EMERGENCY CARDS
  • These are extremely important documents which
    must be returned and kept in the front office.
  • In case of an emergency, illness, or disaster, we
    will first attempt to notify parents/guardians.
  • If unsuccessful, we will then notify the
    emergency contacts listed on the emergency card.

NURSE/MEDICATIONS
  • Be sure to inform the nurse of any special health
    problems.
  • For everyones safety ALL medications,
    prescription and non-prescription, must be kept
    in the nurses office.

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
  • When returning to school from an absence, parent
    must write a note or call within three days of
    the absence.
  • Students may bring notes to the
  • attendance window (rear of main office building)
    verifying the dates, duration, and specific
    reason for the absence.

STUDENT DROP-OFF PICK-UP
  • To ensure student and staff safety please use
    the lower parking lot to drop off and pick up
    students before and after school.
  • Please drive slowly, obey all traffic laws, and
    use good judgment when driving in a school zone.

Dress Code Highlights
  • Highest priority is student learning and anything
    that may potentially distract from that is not
    permitted.
  • Significant instructional time can be lost for
    students and staff when time is taken to inspect
    and deal with clothing issues.

CELLPHONES, PAGERS, ELECTRONIC SIGNALING DEVICES
  • NVUSD policy states that students may possess
    these items while at school.
  • They may only be used before and after school
    and must be turned off and put away during school
    hours. Students who do not follow this policy
    will have their cell phones confiscated and
    returned only to a parent.

MAGAZINE DRIVE
  • Fundraiser for student/team activities such as
    field trips, dances, recognition parties, etc.
  • Magazine Sale Kick-off - September 16 (sell to
    friends, neighbors, or relatives and renewals)

Your First Day of Middle School
  • Arrive between 755 AM and 805 AM.
  • Locate a posted list which indicates,
    alphabetically, which classroom/advisory students
    should report to.
  • Report to your assigned advisory by 810 AM.
  • The advisory room teacher will distribute
    official student schedules. Today you get a sneak
    preview!!
  • Move to your first period class when the bell
    rings at 832 AM.
  • Attend all classes.
  • Dismissal at 1245 PM.
