SMART Goal

• By May 2007, 70 of all Grade 2 students will
  score 8 or above on district writing prompts.
• Goal was identified through analysis of previous
  years student performance on writing prompts.

Students will know and be able to

• Revise text for organization, elaboration,
  fluency and clarity.
• Develop vocabulary through listening, speaking,
  reading and writing.
• Use content vocabulary appropriately and
  accurately.

• 82 of students have reached or exceeded our goal
  of a score of 6 on the December Writing Prompt
• 68 of students have reached or exceeded the goal
  of a score of 8 on the February Writing Prompt.
