GEFTISTAR (GEFITINIB) USES
Geftistar 250 mg is cost-effective generic alternative to Iressa, which contains exactly the same active ingredient (Gefitinib) in the same dosage, as the original drug. Geftistar belongs to a group of anti-cancer medicines known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It is a prescription oncology drug, used in the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Gefitinib inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity associated with the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and thus blocks intracellular signal transduction pathways emanating from this receptor implicated in the proliferation and survival of cancer cells.

HOW SHOULD YOU USE GEFTISTAR TABLETS?

• Geftistar tablets are taken by mouth, together
  with a glass of water. You will be closely
  monitored for the duration of treatment by a
  doctor who specialises in anticancer treatment.
• Doctors generally tell patients that the
  medicine may be taken alongside meals or without
  food.
• Try to take your tablet at the same time of day
  each day, as this will help you to remember to
