  • Develop Health Careers recruitment programs for
    under-represented and disadvantaged populations
  • Support community-based training of primary care
    health professions students and residents in
    MUAs
  • multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training

    assistance to reduce professional isolation,
    increase retention, and enhance the practice
    environment

  • Urban AHEC, Hartford 1978 thru 1983
  • AHEC Centers became statewide 1995
  • AHEC program renewed under Hartford Primary Care
    Consortium 1996
  • Name changed in 2000 from HPCC to Central AHEC,
    Inc.

  • The mission of Central AHEC, Inc. is to eliminate
    health disparities among diverse populations of
    central Connecticut by providing and coordinating
    programs that improve the health status of all.
