Characteristics

• They are endangered.
• His length is 5.25 to 6.00 inches.
• He is a shorebird.
• His legs are black.
• He is short, fairly thin, and is dark bill.

Predator/Prey

• They feed along the shorelines close to their
  nest.
• Eggs and young birds are killed by a variety of
  predators including gulls, skunks, cats, dogs,
  raccoons, foxes, and crows.
• They wander back and forth and seem to be eating
  small insects, and they occasionally take a few
  grasshoppers.

Habitat

• Most live in North America.
• Its a shore bird.
• The beaches in areas used by piping plover are
  usually open and clear of vegetation.
• Breeding pair are often clustered in suitable
  lakeshore habitat.
